Student
programmes

Coached strength and conditioning for HKIS students in Grades 7–12 — same coaches, same rooms, pitched to the age group and built around the school day.

Student places are allocated through HKIS, not through Glofox

Unlike the adult classes, student programmes run as part of the school's after-school activities programme. Places are requested and allocated through HKIS rather than bought with Club 66 credits. If you are unsure whether your child has a place, or the activity you want is not showing, email us and we'll point you to the right person.

Middle School · Grades 7–8

Intro to Strength

A first proper strength programme: how to squat, hinge, press and pull with a loaded bar, and how to build up over weeks rather than in one session. Coaching is technique-led and the loading stays conservative — the aim is that they leave knowing how to train, not just having trained.

Fri 3:15 – 4:15 PM

Students attend twice a week — pick two of the three days.

High School · Grades 9–12

Primal Strength Training

The step up from Intro to Strength: heavier compound work, real progression across the term, and conditioning attached to the back of each session. For students who play a sport and want to be stronger for it, and for those who simply want to lift well.

Middle & High School

Spin

Forty-five minutes on the bike straight after school — structured intervals, music, and a coach setting the efforts. A good fit for students who want conditioning without contact or heavy loading, and a genuinely hard session in a short window.

Good to know

For parents

How does my child get a place?

Through the HKIS after-school activities programme, in the same way as any other ASA. Club 66 does not allocate the places itself. If you are having trouble finding the activity, email us and we will point you in the right direction.

Is it safe for a 12-year-old to lift weights?

Yes, when it is coached. Both strength programmes are technique-first, the loading is deliberately conservative for the age group, and sessions are capped so the coaches can actually watch every student. Intro to Strength exists precisely so Middle School students learn the movements properly before adding weight.

What should they bring?

Training clothes, indoor trainers, a water bottle and a towel. All equipment is provided on site.

When don't classes run?

Club 66 follows the HKIS calendar: no classes on 1–2 October, 19–23 October (Fall Break), 26–27 November, or from 14 December to 1 January (Winter Break).

Can a student use Club 66 class credits instead?

No — credits are for the adult and staff classes. Student programmes are part of the school's activities programme and are handled separately.
